Volunteer Opportunities

North Cariboo Christian School counts on the time contribution and skills of families to actively serve at the school. It is our aim to keep tuition fees low and allow as many families to attend as possible. You know what that means, we need to keep our expenses low too. We need families and community members to serve by helping with the building and site, in- school programming, and events.

Items will be added as they come up, and removed once they are spoken for.

  • Weeding - The playground needs the vegetation pulled out of the pea gravel.  The trees in planters at the top of the driveway need to be weeded.

  • Grounds inspection/cleanup - this would include walking the grounds and picking up any garbage as well as noting any damage that may have been done on the property over the summer.  This likely won't take very long, but is important to keeping our grounds looking great.

  • Window washing - wash the grime and dust off the outside of the windows. Bring your favorite window cleaning tool and window cleaner. The school has a ladder that can be used if coming during school hours.

  • Sweeping - Detailed sweeping of sidewalks and walkways around the school - preferably after the weed trimming is done. Also knocking down cobwebs on the walls and corners. If you are coming after school hours, bring your own brooms.

  • Apply waterproofing to decks, railings, & stairs - the wood walkways to the portables all need a coat of waterproofer.  This will require a day when there is no rain in the forecast.  This is likely a multi-day project or could be done by a group of people or a family.  Colleen will arrange to have the needed supplies.

Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP)

The Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP) exists to ensure that all families participate in the operation of our school both financially and by the contribution of their time and efforts. Every family enrolled at NCCS is required to choose between these two options:

1. Commit to a minimum of 20 hours per family of volunteer work per school year.  This works out to an average of 2 hours per month.

2. Pay $500 non-participation fee for families who are unable to commit to 20 volunteer hours per year, in addition to tuition fees.
